Packaging Environmental Ltd acquired by Bunzl plc – a key development in sustainable food and drink packaging

Packaging Environmental Ltd has been acquired by Bunzl plc. Entrepreneurs Hub advised the shareholders of Packaging Environmental Ltd.

The company supplies sustainable and eco-friendly food and drinks packaging to multi-national organisations and independent operators across the UK and Europe with a strong focus on products made from renewable materials.

The market for sustainable packaging has grown strongly with issues of the environment and sustainability becoming increasingly important to consumers, this has been bolstered by the UK government ban on single-use plastic products which came into force in October 2023.

Bunzl plc are a specialist international distribution and services Group with operations across the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and UK & Ireland. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Entrepreneurs Hub first engaged with Packaging Environmental in 2019 working with the shareholders on a growth for exit pathway. The purpose was to shape and prepare the business to maximise the sale opportunity for both the company and the shareholders.
